Soo a few weeks ago I watched an episode of Greys Anatomy titled "Don't Decieve Me (Please Don't Go)". You can watch it on http://www.ctv.ca/. This episode was all about bringing Twitter into hospitals. At the beginning of the show there was a surgery being performed with many attendees watching. However, the attendees were not just viewing the procedure they were following another procedure on Twitter. At first, it was kinda shocking to me that this would even be allowd! I mean, who would feel safe being operated on if this was going on around you!? Further on in the episode after all the discression of the staff tweeting, a almost miracle like event happens. While another procedure is taking place a complication arises. However, thankfully to other hospitals who were using Twitter a life was saved because the information needed to finish the surgery had been tweeted on Twitter.

This goes to show that social media can benefit us in so many ways. In this case, having the attendees in the hospital "tweeting", saved a life. I couldn't believe this was taking place during surgeries in the episode, but once information was provided to back it up my mind easily changed. I don't know if this is starting to happen in real life hospitals, (somehow I doubt it) but I definately wouldn't be surprised if it did soon!

What will they come up with next!?!?
